I don't normally call for the destruction of any Miata, especially an NA, but this one deserved it just for the way it brings reinforces all of the "girl's car" stereotypes:
It's like a Barbie toy come to life, complete with glitter in the paint - seriously. I think it was an automatic, so like the ones mutilated on Mythbusters, it was no great loss.

Man. I was parking at the local grocery...and this woman pulled up in a purple mirage (DAT PURPLE THO) and when she parked beside me I told her I liked her car the colour was awesome and she said "are you being sarcastic?" And I was like "no...colourful cars are awesome beige is boring" and she said "oh..usually guys make fun of me..." ...what is wrong with us?

My first car was pink. It was a hand-me-down from my grandma, who had previously rocked a purple T-bird. My dad also drove The Pink Nightmare in the year between my grandma giving it to us and me getting my license.
My dad is a civil engineer who mainly works at construction sites. Once, someone made fun of his pink car. Once .
Moral of the story: don't fuck with a New York biker and his pink car.
Second moral of the story: anyone who hates on a pink car is clearly just insecure because they're not tough enough to drive one themselves. Haters gonna hate.

Honestly I'm not even a huge fan of it either (favorite colors are purple, yellow, and blue), but there's personal taste vs irrational "EW IT'S GIRLY KILL IT WITH FIRE"

In retrospect, I may have been wrong. I've got nothing against pink cars, although I wouldn't drive one myself, and am all in favor of paint colors other than the usual silver, red, black and white. Give me a good green or yellow and I'll be happy. I think it was the combination of Miata and pink that I didn't care for. After years of trying to shed the "girl's car" image, this combo just seemed to set back any progress that was made on that front.
